Three EX-terrorists, now America loving, speak tonite in Ann Arbor, MI.
University of Michigan's Rackham building Tuesday evening.

Saw this on TV. Thought the idea might be important to some DUers.

MY QUICK SUMMARY:
Three men claim they were M.E. terrorists. One claims having a chart tracking his 223(#?) kills. All profess a love of America. They will describe how and why young people become terrorists. One has written a book.

I GOOGLED(terrorist "ann arbor"): Speech upsets Muslim leaders:
Our left-wing(Ahem!) lightly left, (our RW paper owned by same company!), Detroit Free Press:
http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070129/NEWS01/70129031/0/BUSINESS07
(Nothing to do with freepers)

Right-wing Detroit News:

I'd love to catch their view of the current administration, but they might steer clear of Dem-Con divide. I fear Bush works for the Military Industrial Complex and profits from the creation of more terrorists. All the better for us to understand it to fight him.

Gotta go.

2. If they had been to GITMO, they would not go out in public much
like all the others released. All that torture and isolation puts a zap on even healthy psyches. They will probably need years of encouragement from friends and close family members to even get back to half-way normal. :(

These guys hit me like the ex-drug offender program. They will exaggerate the negatives. It may be a good sell. It depends on how genuine the message is. Let's see.

I goggled for information on the first self-proclaimed ex-Palestinian Terrorist and on the same page of his biography was an advertise ment for "The Glen Beck Show."

Biography of Walid Shoebat

http://www.shoebat.com/bio.php

On Edit: Glenn Beck interviewed him.

Get the recommendation from this Neo-Con.
Very strange, indeed. :wow:

Frank Gaffney Jr, president of the Center for Security Policy:
“In the 25 years I have been in Washington I have never heard anything so extraordinary and the truth be so eloquently spoken by someone like this.”

Oh, and he was on The O'Reilly Factor on FOX news.

This is too much to wrap my mind around.

A great deal of oversell to the point that I think he would not be received well in even Moderate to Liberal Muslim Crowds. Conservative Muslim Crowd? Forget about it!
