Do you realize the amount of oil gushing out per day could be more than any other oil spill?

The largest to date was the Ixtoc well off Mexico that was about 30,000 barrels a day.
The overall spill was estimated to be up to 3.5 million barrels.

Reports say this oil spill is 5000 to 60,000 barrels a day and could reach as high as 100,000 barrels a day.

If this continues unchecked for 120 days that would be 600,000 to 7 million and possible as high as 12 million barrels.

This could be larger than the Ixtoc oil spill which was the largest accidental oil spill to date.

For the worst case it would as large as Sadaam's Gulf War Oil Spill that he used to prevent U.S. Marines from landing. This was the largest oil spill in history by far.
