This link has very scary information, all with appropriate citations, regarding what could easily be a mass-manipulation of our elections.

They've already been caught registering voters who thought they were just signing petitions. Getting total registered voter numbers higher gives them more room to fudge numbers.

When you buy a pack of gum, you get a receipt. Why is there no receipt/audit trail on our votes? I can only think of one reason.

Elections have become as fraudulent as possible already and the fraud is well hidden.

But there are some improvements in recent years with better audits and the removal of DRE's from many states. DREs need to be completely eliminated...

What kind of machine counts your vote? Find out which one and if you are not happy with it, find a way to improve upon it or audit the count.

An action. An action that I have had success with where I vote.

But there is great opposition to this action. The republicans love the new-fangled voting apparatus and they are working hard to keep the fraud hidden and undocumented. And so are a few democrats.

But thousands of active democrats across the country have done the same and even more.
It is why we have gone over the 'peak vote fraud' crest.

Now we need everyone who cares how their vote is counted to care enough to act.

DRE's are Direct Recording Electronic.

Which means that a DRE has no paper trail. Everything on a DRE is digital, meaning that it can be changed by someone sitting at a keyboard. Much like we can post, reply and edit here, on DU.

Surely everyone can see how someone with the means, the motive, and the opportunity would work hard to be able to change the counted vote?

So what has happened is that most of the DREs that gwbu$h bought and paid for with the HAVA act, are now outlawed in many states. Not all, but many.

The best system seems to be Optical scan, which has, at least, a paper trail. However, the counts are still being done by computers that can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

The answer to that is an audit of the machined count. That's the action that many activists are working to have accomplished. Everyone who cares about their vote needs to become involved in making audits become regular and common. Otherwise another gwbu$h will come along, soon enough.

...your thoughtful and apparently well-informed perspective on this. Are you aware of any organizations that are pushing for a ban on ES&S/Diebold and other non-auditable systems? I can't think of a better place to spend my vast energy and meager dollars.

I am only aware of a few local groups. I pushed hard to get my state to ban the DREs, and they did ban the damned things. Success!!

The first step is to know what counts your votes and then act on that with your local officials.

I am presently working here with making sure proper audits are to be done after the next general election, and you wouldn't believe the pig headed opposition I am getting. It's almost like they don't care if my vote is counted correctly. But that is nothing new, the whole time there has been great opposition. But we are winning.
