An alternate name for Teabagger types. Here's hoping it is catchy enough to catches on.

I've always wondered how terms like "Chimpy", "*", "Pickles", "Rethuglicans", etc...get started. I realize that the process is a lot more organic then what I am attempting here, I must admit to having fantasized about being one of those people that actually starts a word or phrase trend.

Here it goes:

They call themselves "Tea Partiers" and "Patriots" without the slightest idea of what either of those words really mean. Because they are prone to vapid jingoism, I propose to start calling them "Proudtobeans" as in "Proud To Be An American."

This is not to imply that being a proud American is wrong, but to them, being a proud American "Lee Greenwood" style is to celebrate rolling green fields, farms, mom&pop businesses, and the armed forces (not the Pentagon machine, but the rank and file men and women sent off to war), when all the while they vote against those particular institutions without ever realizing it. In other words, they are fine with being a proud American when a Republican is elected, yet they "want their country back" whenever a Dem is in the White House.

It becomes a pejorative only because of the irony.

For the record, I would think their attitude would be that it was "lucky" to be American.
