I hear the freepers are boycotting his concert tour because of his joke about Bush. That's all the motivation I needed.

I'll be out of town when he comes here to Pittsburgh in August, but I thought I'd show some support and take a little trip to Nashville with my 16-year-old daughter. 8 hour drive, but it will be worth it.

Section 305 of the Brookstone Arena... if any DUers will be attending. ;-)

1. Addendum: The best part is the percentage of Repukes in the audience will be lower than normal

Since they're boycotting Sir Paul.

Nashville is in the heart of Red Neck Repukistan.... but it will be fun to drive through there with my Obama bumper stickers.

2. Cool. PBS will show McCartney's White House performance/award late July.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/06/01/paul.mccartney.white.house/index.html

McCartney recently won the Gershwin Prize, America's highest honor for popular music. McCartney joked that Bush "knows what a library is". (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/04/john-boehner-paul-mccartney_n_601102.html)

Have fun at the concert!

But the Dixie Chicks had a better jab at Bush. ;-)

3. I saw him at the Hollywood Bowl in March. You won't be disappointed. He's
still going strong. Put on a 3 hour show - no opening act. Sang all the classics - including nods to John and George with "A Day in the Life" and "Something." The best thing about McCartney is that at his age and with his money he doesn't have to tour at all. He could retire to one of his many properties and chill. However, he truly enjoys being an entertainer and is in that rarified category of "living legend." I took my 16-year-old daughter. Not really her thing, but she said she couldn't pass up an opportunity to see a member of the Beatles in concert. Incredible to think that when I was her age McCartney was hugely popular. That was 40 years ago.

6. I haven't spent a lot of time in Nashville
And I haven't even been there since going to a Rush concert in 2004. But from what I gather, Nashville is a surprisingly progressive city. It's not San Francisco South by any means, but certainly more progressive than a lot of people would imagine.

7. isn't freeper boycott of this like liberals boycotting Rush or Palin ?
they aren't the type to go anyways.

but i hope you do have fun. sometimes the live shows can be more enjoyable even though you might not usually be into that music just because of everyone else around you who loves it.

8. Unfortunately you're wrong about that. Just like with Springsteen, the idiot freepers were
shocked--shocked I tell you--to hear he's a liberal. Morans.

9. I'm taking my daughter to his just announced August concert in Pittsburgh
Edited on Sat Jun-05-10 05:48 AM by Divernan
Tickets officially go on sale next Wednesday, but with an AMEX Gold Card I hope to "pre-purchase" some excellent seats earlier in the week. We have an old 8 mm film of my then 1 year old daughter "dancing" in front of the tv during the Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. This concert will be her birthday gift from me.

I just went to a Beatles' tribute show a few months ago and enjoyed it very much - but Sir Paul LIVE !!!, oh, what a night!

10. I am so sick and tired of the trash called republicans
We have pictures, written records, and the republicans in congress calling OUR PRESIDENT OBAMA names, and pictures of him as the joker etc and this absolutely positively POS Boehner WANTS AND APOLOGY because of what McCartney said about Bush when the comics such as Leno have said worst about him not being able to read.

I for one wish every single one of us would send an email to Bonehead and tell him when the tea bags, the state senator from SC and the members of the republican congress apologize enmass to OUR president for the filthy spewing crap they have said about him then someone might be up to an apology for Bush.

Who in the damn hell do these republicans think they are. TRASH FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAN IS WHAT I THINK. And before you get up enough nerve to send that email to Boehner or better yet call, get the address of his district and be sure you put it on the email as where you live or they won't accept it.
