PBS' The News Hour: Melanie Morgan was rude and interrupting
Jon Stolz from Votevets.org. He stuck it to her good, though. Watch it if you can handle Judy Woodruff moderating it.

At one point:
JON SOLTZ: Well, we are the troops. And there was nothing worse than when I was in combat in Iraq and a soldier that I sent on a convoy was killed, and I had to hear my president, the man who never had the courage to serve in Vietnam, entice my enemy with words like, "Bring it on."

MELANIE MORGAN: Oh, please!

2. What a disgusting person - lookie here:
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Melanie_Morgan

Morgan works with the Russo Marsh & Rogers public relations firm which specializes in electing Republican candidates; with help from the Pentagon, ran "Truth Tours" to Iraq for right-wing US media personalities; and receives funding from Iraqi Kurds to run advertisements on American television stations thanking the United States for the war. Morgan is chairwoman of the Russo Marsh & Rogers-run pro-war lobby Move America Forward.

8. Yes, and he reported on how al qaeda wants the troops in Iraq:
Al-Qaida said it two days ago. They want us in Iraq. They've strategically fixed our assets to defeat them in the war on terror inside the middle of a Shia-Sunni conflict in the middle of the Middle East. And it's absolutely ridiculous.

MELANIE MORGAN: Well, it's nice to know that you really believe in the fearsome firepower of al-Qaida and in their ability to win a war. And I think what you're saying is shameful and really disrespectful to our troops.

JON SOLTZ: You're undermining our troops in the field right now by these comments...

27. My husband and I love watching those two also. They are very polite,
never have to scream to get their point across, etc.

And it is interesting...sometimes I think there is a special dynamic between Shields and Lehrer because they were both Marines.

28. yes, it's like the opposite of "Shout shows" and remember that used to be the norm? I guess
thats why that Morgan harridan being on Newshour is so disappointing, i look to PBS and Newshour to at least elevate the debate.

6. Plus, she said she doesn't want the troops back.
Okay, it was a freudian slip.

MELANIE MORGAN: Well, I would just want to send a message to all of the congressional representatives and the senators. Much like MoveOn.org, our side, on the right, those who support the troops and support their mission and victory in Iraq, will be watching their votes. Any Republicans who waver whatsoever, we will be targeting them, as well.

This is a long-term war. And I'm sorry that Mr. Soltz doesn't seem to understand that we can't snap our fingers and be out of Iraq tomorrow. There's nobody who wants our men and women, our sons and daughters, and brothers and sisters back immediately.

7. she behaved like a fool- and was incredibly
rude and childish. I can't understand how she can sleep at night.

I've never heard of her before this (no, I don't get around much) and when I looked her up in google she was listed as...Anne Coulters twin? or something like that.

She said something like "we've already won the war- now we just need to win the peace"-...... i couldn't believe it- ....

The guy from Votevets- was good- and he didn't let her walk all over him,- and wasn't rude in return either. I catch the news-hour when I can- but have never heard one like this-

peace,
blu

14. She has been spewing bile for quite awhile
along with her co-host, Lee Rogers. There was a pretty heavy effort to have their advertisers "defund" them awhile back (some did) over some fairly outrageous comments they made. Then they started whining about how they were being "persecuted" (oh, they're engaged in a witch-hunt...trying to get me fired...holding me accountable for my comments...)

Typical. Right. Wing. Demagoguery...as opposedto the Left-Wing variety...

16. Dissing Cindy Sheehan:
In October 2006, Morgan and reporter Catherine Moy published American Mourning, a book contrasting the reaction of anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan to the news of her son's death to that of the Johnson family in Georgia, who also lost a son.<5> In this book, she asserted that Sheehan had become addicted to internet porn, had had casual sex with strangers and that she had exchanged explicit instant messages and emails with Lew Rockwell.<6>

19. Yeah, Melanie's a real sweetheart...it went beyond that, too, ..
although I can't remember what the other issues were (bad on me for raising something and then not being able to provide info). I make a habit of avoiding KSFO whenever possible...I only knew of the controversy from KGO (another Bay Area am station) and from occasional tune-ins over the years to see if they are still a subsidiary of the Limbaugh propaganda network.

They are...

Late one night, when she was visiting the White House, Bush told her all about his heroic adventures in Vietnam over a pitcher of margaritas. And she listened and believed every word he said, because she always believes every word he says.

The first thing I heard was poison being shouted, by this witch, I didn't know who she was but twenty seconds of it was enough for me, I shut it off and went to The Simpsons, let me know when they become civilized again.

31. I'm a fan of PBS and...
the Newshour...but last night was awful! Send a letter to them at newshour@pbs.org

Here's mine:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I just watched your interview this evening with the representative (Soltz ? )
from VoteVets and a woman representing the Republican line on the war (sorry- I
didn't catch her name). I'm disgusted.

For six years of the Bush Administration the Republicans have let their politics
rule every decision they have made...from a lie into war, to Katrina, to
choosing judges(possibly for the purpose of manipulating elections) and to
choosing unqualified heads of government organizations like FEMA. This has
lead...repeatedly...to disaster.

Their leadership has trashed Social Security, the economy, the military, New
Orleans ...only the BEGINNING of a list so long it makes my mind spin! They
want to privatize EVERYTHING. And tonight, this woman has the nerve to sit
there and blame organizations like Move On, VoteVets, and the Democratic leaders
in Congress for 'playing politics' and 'helping the enemy at a time of war' for
standing up to them and trying to get the country back on track.

I believe in free speech, and she has a right to say what she believes...as do
the rest of us. Organizations like VoteVets and Move On are standing up for the
60+ % of us who believe in a different path for our country. We are just as
patriotic as anyone else. We want our country to be successful...in Iraq and in
our future. The last thing we would do is help Al Qaida or any other enemy of
our country. We love this country. We want it to remain strong and a safe place
to raise our children and grandchildren. We love and support our troops...which
is why we want to do right by them. And...believe it or not...most of us
probably don't think of ourselves as 'liberals' or part of the 'far left.'

We do, however, believe in democracy and the Constitution. We think fair
elections matter. We think government has a role as a safety net for Social
Security, to insure safe food and drinking water, and to support citizens after
disasters like Katrina or the tornadoes in Kansas. We care about life enough to
want to protect children with good health care and a free public school
education. To say our goal is to help al Qaida and undermine our own country
for politics is SHAMEFUL.

I BEG the media to cover the truth of the last six years. Expose the lies.
Don't allow people like this to dominate the stage again and mislead the people
of this country the way the media did prior to the Iraq War. This is a critical
moment for our country. We need the debate...but we need it to be informative,
civil and lead by people on television who can build understanding and unity
toward all the challenges our country faces.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Extra added bonus...Newshour was KO's Worse person tonight, because of this interview. :7

Go, Keith !!!

:patriot:
