1. Bayh has always been worthless, a weak shadow of his father.
But now he's flapping his gums at every opportunity to ply his Zell Miller bullshit.

Evan Bayh doesn't stand for anything, and never has. He's never been anything but a rental for major interests.

2. And, he is not fading away after his announcement of retirement
Having known Evan and his father for many years, I can guarantee you one thing - Evan will run for President again someday. It has been his life's goal and there is nothing he would not sacrifice to get it. His retirement is merely some bit of triangulation to further his quest.

3. I can't believe he thinks he has any chance at winning any primary.
I can't see him winning a single Democratic primary, with the possible exception of Indiana.

He has no following outside Indiana.

4. Yep. I sure miss his dad.
Birch was a great Senator and would have made a great president.

5. Birch was all about the personality, of which his son has zero.

6. Agree. And Birch could speak, too. Evan is overly scripted and
downright wooden in his addresses to the public.

We're a far cry from the original Bayh.

9. Good post. You have perfectly described Bayh's career as a
politician. For a guy who is retiring, he sure is making a lot of noise.
