Queen teases Bush over date gaffe
I'm thinking it was more along the lines of reminding him what an idiot he is instead of a fun "tease".

And..this has to be the first time the words "Bush" and "peace process" are used in the same sentence.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6637505.stm

In a speech at a dinner in the US, she said: "Mr President, I wondered whether I should start this toast saying I was here in 1776 but I don't think I will."

She was commenting on the president having nearly referred to one of her previous visits being in 1776 not 1976.

The Queen's comment at a dinner at the British ambassador's residence, on the final day of her US tour, raised laughter from the guests.

<snip>

On a more serious note, she went on to thank Mr Bush and his predecessors for their contribution to the Northern Ireland peace process.

3. Well gosh, that's probably the most charming way I've ever heard anyone start out a speech with
"You're such a fuckup, let me remind everyone here" without coming out and saying that.

That was Clinton ... all the way ...

That's like the congratulating the trust-fund babies for "earning" their wealth ...

5. And that will be another part of our revisionist history. If the Queen says it, Shrub
will accept the accolades for it in the future. Don't be surprised when wrongwing pundits go through their litany of Shrub accomplishments, that will be one of them.
