Regarding The Right-Wing, "Blame The Environmentalists" Talking Point

Every right-winger I've heard weigh in on the subject of the oil spill says the exact same thing (what a shocker there, that they're all in lockstep--no, they DON'T get spoon-fed their opinions from "on high"), that this is all those damned environmentalist hippies' fault, because they were forced to drill out in the ocean instead of on land, where something like this could be contained in a second. Well, I find that to be absolutely WONDERFUL logic. And since I know that right-wingers are ALWAYS 100% consistent in their logic about EVERYTHING, I want to let them know what ELSE they believe.

You see, since it's not the act itself that's to blame for the ensuing disaster, but the people who forced the actor to find a way around the rules, it opens up a whole new can of worms as to where to place the blame for lots of other types of society's woes.

Who's to blame for the drug problem? The people who insist that drugs should be illegal.

Who's to blame for prostitution? Those damned prudes who made it illegal. AND the people who constantly preach that sex is dirty, bad, and depraved (who just so happen to be the same people).

Who's to blame for child molestation? The idiots who refuse to provide pedophiles with free child sex slaves in order to calm their burning desires.

Who's to blame for people dying in car crashes? The morons who insist on making car safety devices like seat belts and air bags mandatory. If people didn't have life-saving devices in their cars (if they knew their cars were deathtraps, in other words), they'd drive more carefully and there wouldn't be as many crashes.

Who's to blame for illegal immigration? The people who insist on locking up the borders and building walls around our country, etc. If those close-minded fools would just allow employers to openly hire illegals and pay them slave wages, there wouldn't BE any jobs in this country for illegal immigrants to take, and they therefore wouldn't bother crossing the border to come here. You see? It all makes perfect sense.

Gee whiz, I thought it was the right-wingers who were always yammering on about "blaming the victim." Who knew that they were in favor of it all along? Then again, I guess these ARE the same people who insist that we can eliminate gun violence in this country by providing guns to every man, woman, and child (kinda like saying we can eliminate smoking by providing every American with a carton of cigarettes).
