Just in case anyone had such a concern ......
..... modern prisons are capable of housing sick old men like Cheney. There is no humanitarian reason to allow him to remain unprosecuted.

3. I'm looking forward
to the day Cheney and ilk are held accountable by the US justice system.

(while having no faith that it will ever happen)

11. I don't think the US justice system will do its job
But the man is dying of congestive heart failure. Slowly. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Oh, wait, maybe I would. It's the only justice he will see.

2. Excellent reminder.
Appreciate the compassion, too.

Once Cheney can no longer make little rocks out of big ones he can get a job in the laundry.
Of course, after a few decades he may no longer be able to take the heat, he can get to making license plates.

4. This is why his kid is on the offensive.

She's making the rounds of whatever newsies will have her on camera
just in hopes that she might keep Daddy Darth out of the pokey.

(And just look at this pic. Link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x8499698
The Cheney family characteristic of hatefullness is just beaming off her.)

9. My theory is that she really, really hates him -
and she is only doing what she's doing to remind us all WHY we hate him too.

After they haul him off to prison, who gets his fortune?

5. Actually, according to a post I saw on FB this morning...
Edited on Tue Jun-08-10 09:10 AM by pipi_k
the only appropriate place for someone of Cheney's ilk would be in a nursing home.

No offense to anyone who works in a nursing home...

6. sad, ain't it?
If we spent on education what we spend on incarceration, our prison pop would decline significantly within the next generation.

I'm sorry, but I don't think "prisons" need quite all the state-of-the-art frills. They don't need to horrific chambers of torture and neglect, but they shouldn't get "better" than what our kids (or our seniors) get.
