Who is this Congresswoman Blackburn from Tennessee?
Someone please tell me this type of RW nutjob is not who the good people of Tennessee truly want to represent them in the halls of Congress. I see the GOPers have been trotting her out like mad to schill for Bush's Iraq "surge". What is she supposed to be? The younger, blonder version of Jean Schmidt?

1. She's horrifying- if I was a Tennessean, I would be so ashamed.
She is drunk on Kool-aide. I remember Tweety interviewing her about Iraq one time, and she kept giggling and laughing. Even Tweety got annoyed and said,
"This isn't funny."

9. It's a freaky defense mechanism she has.

Every time someone tries to argue a point with her, she grins ear to ear and starts cackling like a madwoman I've seen her do this at least a half dozen times. Who the hell keeps booking this certifiably wacko woman for these shows and what is up with Tennessee???

2. *raises hand* She is my representative
She is Bush's lapdog with regard to every issue, I don't think she has any issues of her own at all. At my precinct last election, I voted for the opposing democrat at exit polling it wasn't even close, Blackburn is liked around here for some reason yet I never hear about her having any townhall meetings or anything. Perhaps she only meets at the Country Club? (In my best pompous voice)

4. You must live on the outskirts of Memphis.
Memphis doesn't look to be in her district - and, if it was, she wouldn't be the rep.

12. I'm in the suburbs
of Memphis. Her district is shaped funny and she has alot of West TN. Even if I disagree with her ideas I'd like to hear some from her that aren't just and echo of this administrations.

3. VERY gerrymandered district that includes only rural
areas:

These are people who's only talk radio is rightwing - they never have an opportunity to hear another viewpoint.

I'm a Tennessee and less ashamed at the people there who voted for her than the fact that there's no decent news media around to expose this sorry excuse for a representative (she's not my representative, btw).

10. Blackburn is from Brentwood
Just south of Nashville. Hmmm. She was my rep until I moved to a different part of town.

I can say one good thing about her: the last time agribusiness tried to get legislation passed that watered down Organic Foods Act requirements, she was unsympathetic to them and far more informed on the issue than the other reps and senators I wrote to.

Otherwise: feh.

6. Tom DeLay's Girlfriend
She's one of what I used to call "pit bulls" DeLay would send out to piss off Democrats and push talking points on radio & TV. Putnam is another of these sockpuppets who couldn't think their way out of a paper bag, but sure can read the talking points and don't mind looking like a total fool in doing so.

Marsha's been around longer than Mean Jean and is far goofier. You can see her "handiwork" during the one minute speeches before each House session. She's almost always there...along with KKK pal Ted Poe and Joe "I'll Never Stop Milking 9/11" Wilson trying to outdo Marsha as the most obnoxious and bombastic.

8. An Embarrassment to Women
I am mortified every time I see her on tv and have noticed she is on more and more. :puke:
I apologize to all Tennesseeans but I think she is even worse than my rep Eric Cantor.
