AP ran false headline on story reporting baseless GOP allegations against Pelosi
http://mediamatters.org/items/200705080007?f=h_top

Summary: An Associated Press article bore the headline "GOP says water bill benefits Pelosi's husband's property," but the article itself reported that "Republicans are accusing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of including a provision in a water redevelopment bill that could benefit property her husband owns in San Francisco" -- not alleging that it does benefit her husband's property. The article also noted that Republicans "offered no evidence of benefit to Paul Pelosi's real estate holdings" -- raising the question of why AP thought it merited publishing at all.

2. AP Sure Has It Out For Her
Wasn't this the same "news organization" that pushed the story about the plane, then her supposed mistreatment of her own workers and then the phony crap during her Syrian trip? And ya know...each time she's come back bigger and more popular.

Damn that Pelosi for messing up the "boys club" and upsetting the status quo in the beltway. Woman aren't supposed to have that much power...and even moreso, they should be seen and rarely heard (like a good Repugnican woman does).

The GOOP operatives are desperate to find a Democratic demon...another Tom Daschele or Tom Foley (anyone remember him?)...a weak leader who can be turned into some big monster that becomes the scourge of hate radio and rallies all the GOOPers next year. The problem is Nancy's two steps ahead of them in reality and five steps ahead of them in intelligence.

The more often we see this hit pieces, the more we can realize how effective and popular Speaker Pelosi has become. I, for one, am very, very proud of the job she's done!
