Lieberman will not hold McMahon's past against her!

"Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), who is known for his campaigns against indecency in the media, says that Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon's background as a pro-wrestling executive isn't a problem, if he were to possibly support her.

"You know the first time I met Linda McMahon was around that very subject. I was concerned and I was working with colleagues in the Senate, and Bill Bennett, about the messages that the World Wrestling was sending out to kids. And we had a good conversation," Lieberman told reports Monday. "But you know, she's running for the Senate now, so I'm not gonna hold her her accountable for anything she did in the past. I want to hear what her ideas are on foreign policy, domestic policy."

In 1998, he had a different take on Clinton's past and background:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/lieberman090598.htm
"What Lieberman did was call Clinton's behavior "immoral," his denials "intentional and premeditated." But perhaps more significantly, he linked his rebuke of Clinton to how "society's standards are sinking," to how "our common moral code is deteriorating," to how "our public life is coarsening."

"And now, because the president commands at least as much attention and exerts at least as much influence on our collective consciousness as any Hollywood celebrity or television show, it is hard to ignore the impact of the misconduct the president has admitted to on our culture, on our character and on our children."

As someone from Connecticut, I will be working to elect Richard Blumenthal this fall and to defeat Mr. Lieberman in 2012.
