People often talk about the military refusing to fight in an illegal
war. Is the flip side of that coin the military deciding to fight a war that the country doesn't want?

1. The military can not start a war. That power lies in the hands of the congress...
though the War Powers Act gives the President a lot of say on the manner.

2. That's not a valid comparison
One involves killing a lot of people and blowing a lot of stuff up, and the other involves NOT killing a lot of people and NOT blowing a lot of stuff up.

I don't see how those two things can be considered 'the same'. I mean, people can always be killed and stuff blown up later, any time at all. Once it's done, however, it's done. The people are dead and the stuff destroyed.
