3. Ed and Rachel just brought this subject up on MSNBC
which is the first I've heard of it in the media.

Ed: "Looks like he got Bubba'd here in Arkansas".

And by extention, we all did.

This shit cannot be allowed to stand. :grr:

13. Bubba should have shut the fuck up. Another reason I want to slap
his ass. It is hard overlooking his shit when defending him in the nineties split my family to the point my brother never got to speak to my mama when she passed away.

4. Yeah. Good luck with that.
That will disappear down some bureaucratic black hole somewhere.

10. well, SOMEBODY must have thought so: 2 polling places open today; 41 in May
That sort of change can only be a strategic move. Somebody knew Blanch wasn't gonna do well there. Hacks do the math and see where they need to just nudge or thwart the few places that can tip the totals.

18. Halter won Garland County by 4 points in the primary. It was his biggest lead in the state.

20. It looks like they could have, at least theoretically.
Garland County results:
Registered voters 70,637
Votes 7,286
Turnout 10.31%

Statewide results:
Halter 113,852
Lincoln 124,153
Margin 10,301

Turnout percentages went as high as the 30s and 40s in a few counties, so more than 10,301 votes are theoretically in play in Garland County if turnout had been that high.

Above numbers are from the Arkansas SOS website -- not sure if there may be later numbers available locally.

9. 2 polling places open in the county, as opposed to 41 in May???
Edited on Tue Jun-08-10 10:17 PM by havocmom
Oh, that does sound a bit like some goon wanted to disenfranchise the whole county!

14. And they thought no one would notice.
You have to at least ask the question why the poll closings were ordered. Is there a precedent?

15. Well, the poll closure was decide by the Chairman himself
without consulting two others that needs to be put into a vote.

Charles Tapp needs to be accountable for this farce.

17. I agree. Real Progressives should not let this go.
Otherwise, all we will ever be are recipients of sand kicked in our faces at every turn.

16. 41 polling places open in Garland County in May...
Halter has a strong showing in that county...

Then for the primary, only 2 of the 41 are open?

You'd have to be an *IDIOT* to not think someone's got their hand up someone else's butt here.

If I lived in Garland County, I'd be FURIOUS! I'm already mad and don't even live in the state. This is not looking out for people's rights.

19. I was hoping that this would happen.

Closing 39 out of 41 polling places in the area where Halter was strongest is more blatant disenfranchisement then even the Republicans have tried recently. :grr:

21. my two cents -- this is marginally about halter and the race.
getting serious about election fraud and fair elections is primary with me.
