Florida Q Poll: Crist 37, Rubio 33, Meek 17

If this keeps up as the general gets closer, I hope Meek drops out. He doesnt have to endorse Crist, but just get out of the race to get the better of the two in there.

1. Let Crist Keep Moving Further Left...
I think Meeks is a terrible candidate and the poll numbers don't lie. But right now he does serve a useful purpose. Crist knows he needs Democratic votes to win and with Meeks in the race, he has to work for them. I'd like to see him commit that if elected, Crist will caucus with the Democrats...and get him on the record on a bunch of pending issues...card check, immigration reform, climate bill, etc. If we get to September and Rubio is still ahead, then maybe it would be time for the party to pull the plug on Cong. Meeks...don't throw support to Crist but also don't stand in his way.

6. he won't commit publicly to caucus with the Democrats
that would chase off a good chunk of his republican supporters

and I wouldn't mind seeing Meeks drop out either

The same poll says more voters disapprove of Lemieux than approve. I know he was appointed by Crist but I hope that will translate into votes against the established GOP machine and more particularly against Rubio. I would hate to see Rubio win mainly because he has Jeb Bush on his side. I think a vote against Rubio is a vote against the Bush dynasty.

3. This tells more about the state of the Democratic party in FL
What does that mean, Meek dropping out? Before the primary, perhaps yes so that the party can put someone with more credibility in his place. If he's the democratic nominee, as terrible as that would be, him dropping out would mean that we wouldn't have a candidate in the race.

I gotta get the hell out of this state!

4. Crist could use Meek's 17%
Meek needs to bow out. He's not going to win, all he's going to do is help Rubio win.

5. I think he should wait it out
If however the dynamic doesnt change and he sees that he has no realistic chance of winning, he should drop out.

7. Meek could become like the GOP candidate against Lieberman in 2006.
I don't think he should drop out cause him being in helps Crist to position himself properly.
