Simply amazing that someone so ill-informed, and so narrow-minded as Connie Mack should even come close to being in our government. But then, the Congress is full of them.

Vive Chavez.

3. Thank you.
I just could not remain silent any longer. Just had to vent somewhere. I view many sites on the Internet but DU seems to be pretty well administered. I did get a couple of warnings that I should not say too much negative about Israel or Obama. Go figure. I thought this was one place that could discuss all points of view. Thanks sfor the welcome.

6. Experience has taught us those two subjects degenerate
into flame wars. So the moderators step in from time to time.

I've been here since 2002, had a few threads locked, probably pissed off a few people, but not once have I felt the moderators were heavy handed.

Fight fair and you'll do alright.

I spend much of my time at the Photography forum, and try not to get too emotionally involved in GD.

9. welcome to du...
if you remain civil, most topics should be fine. Now, when it comes to Israel, some other people may get imflammatory and get a thread locked- but if you remain civil it is on them, not you.

4. The movie sounds like a "must see."
Is the poster Judy Lynn out there? Having watched her posts for a year or so, I thought she would have been all over the Larry King show tonight. She usually has the "truthiness" scoop on So. America.

8. Where are my manners? Welcome to DU Shirley
I just saw one of Judy Lynne's posts a few minutes ago. It was in a thread about Clinton down in Bogota supporting all the wrong elements again.

That's how you stay ill-informed you block out all other information. I was amazed Mack likened watching Stone's movie to incorporating it into the curriculum, lol. Education isn't supposed to be just indoctrination into one or another viewpoint, but hearing different points of view... This is where today's Republican party seems to be at on nearly everything. Wit us er again us.

10. No wonder our "leaders" make such poor decisions. They bound by ignorance
and failure to try to learn and understand anything except the talking points provided to them.

11. Only One History in Florida
I think Mack is from Florida, here's a law they've implemented there: http://hnn.us/roundup/entries/26016.html I guess showing Oliver Stone's film, would be 'constructing' history.
