WalMart Medical Clinics Hate People With Insurance
...... My wife had to go to the Dr for some ongoing problems and prescriptions refills running out....other local Drs in town charge $225 for a base office call and Walmart charges Ala Carte $65. per issue....We have been waiting for my work insurance to take effect and the cards to arrive so my wife went to Walmart instead of waiting...
Well the morning of the appointment the cards arrive via email and later that day in the mailbox and now with a phone call we are activated.. She gets to the office completes the paperwork...the receptionist ran the insurance and says to my wife....we would like for you to pay up front in which my wife's I have a co-pay of $20 then the receptionist says well maam you have a preexisting condition that being diabetes and the insurance may not pay us....she held tight to the $20. co-pay....got her business done and came home.
She tell me about this and I say....What about Obamacare???...there is a provision that insurance company can no longer discriminate people with heath issues prior the passage of this bill..Am I wrong??
She told me the receptionist festered the whole time she was there...I told the wife....they just don't want the cost of billing hurting their bottom line after all that is how they charge so little..
1. I have diabetes and have never been told by a receptionist that my insurance
will not pay the doctor. If the insurance company gave you the cards, then you are covered. Sometimes I have had to get permission from the insurance company to cover certain meds but I was never not covered for a routine doctor's visit and Cigna always paid my doctor for it. A copay was all I ever needed. If your wife was not denied insurance, then you are covered for basic things like that.
written down and kept in a database somewhere. How do we know what the problems are if we don't collect personal histories with the health care system?
