If Bobby Kennedy Jr had Salazar's Job I bet
We would have seen a whole new ball game as Sec of the Interior.

Salazar was an industry hack from Colorado and wasn't a reliable Democrat even when he was in the Senate.

I didn't like that pick when Obama choose him and now I know why.
I was sorta of glad to see him out of the Senate.

2. It's a joke Salazar is in his position. Bobby Kennedy Jr would be an excellent replacement.
But that would take guts to make that change and I am feeling as if President Obama doesn't have it in him.

nonsense.

I mean, can we have a Sec. of Interior who doesn't post woo crap on HuffPo? Yes, we can.

Given how thoroughly he was discredited re: his anti-vax nonsense, he wouldn't have any credibility with regards to conservation and climate...where SCIENCE should rule.

Orac, of course, has all the relevant links to his woo...

10. Salazar introduced Alberto Gonzales as the Attorney General Nominee
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 10:38 AM by Ichingcarpenter
I don't think it can get worse than that.

Soon after arriving in the Senate, Salazar generated controversy within his party by introducing Attorney General nominee Alberto Gonzales and sitting by his side during Gonzales' confirmation hearings.

He was a part of the gang of 14

Then he backed Exxon

In 2005, Salazar voted against increasing fuel-efficiency standards (CAFE) for cars and trucks, a vote that the League of Conservation Voters notes is anti-environment. In the same year, Salazar voted against an amendment to repeal tax breaks for ExxonMobil and other major petroleum companies.<6>

14. So replace Salazar with an anti-vax woo blogger from HuffPo?
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 10:47 AM by msanthrope
I see two distinct issues--Salazar, and Kennedy. Salazar may be bad, (and the evidence certainly points there!) but Kennedy simply isn't competent to replace him.

6. Just heard Mike Papantonio on Stephanie Miller. Stephanie suggested he (Pap)
take over Salazar's job and he said no, Bobby Kennedy Jr. (Perfect!) Papantonio said he'd like to by an angry AG - how cool would that be?

It's really time for Obama to clean house. As MP said, he's surrounded himself with Clinton and Bush people. Time to get his own crew in there.

politics, the most bizarre things happen. People get reelected who should be in jail, yesterday's pariah is today's darling, etc. It wasn't specifically about Kennedy.

20. Recommended.
Robert is an outstanding environmental advocate. Not only is he the top environmental attorney in the country, but he is also dedicated tohelping provide assistance to low-income neighborhoods with toxic waste-related problems, free of charge. I know this from decades of personal experience.

I also know that Robert takes a strong stand on assisting families who have been victimized by hate crimes. He is, like his father, held in extremely high regard among traditional Native American Elders across North America.

On the other hand, some corporations and individuals are heavily invested in their on-going attempts to discredit him. They pop up in curious places.

I noted my support for Caroline upthread, but beyond that, the name, 'Kennedy', doesn't mean 'beyond reproach.'

And the majority of the Kennedys, to their credit, would be the first to tell you that.

If you are going to be successful at discrediting someone at DU, you're going to have to do a little better than childish name calling. That ONLY appeals to the handful of shills already in your camp.
Besides, you already used up "woo-woo" on somebody else.
These transparent Corporate Sponsored Jihads have the opposite effect of the one you intended.

"Toxic Waste is GOOD for you"

America needs to get rid of NOT JUST Salazar, but all of the Big Business owned creeps in the White House.
The DLC New Team
Big Business as Usual Democrats ONLY!

(Screen Capped from the DLC Website)
Unfortunately, Obama will NOT be the one doing the "house cleaning".
He IS one of "them".

"By their works you will know them."

BTW: We had a bumper crop of pesticide/herbicide/toxic chemical FREE Strawberries this year.
Makes it all worthwhile. :)
Blueberries are next,
but the wild Blackberries may not have gotten enough rain for a decent crop.

43. Sweet!
Make that Extra Sweet! I don't have strawberries and this spring was cold and cloudy until about a week ago. Amazing for California. I enjoyed it but my little seedlings are way behind. But the blackberries this year are going to be bumper judging by their blossoms (blooming now, fortunately when it's safer). We got a lot of rain this spring, but some of the crops like apple also got snowed on and frozen at night. So we'll see!

I really love this life. It's brought me a lot closer to nature and seasons.

:hi:
