One year ago officer Johns was killed at the Holocaust museum
Today is a very difficult day for our Museum community.

Exactly one year ago, Special Police Officer Stephen Tyrone Johns died heroically while defending our Museum from a brutal attacker, an avowed racist and antisemite.

On that terrible day, our memorial to the victims of hate became a target of the hateful, and the Johns family lost a devoted husband, father and son.

Please join us today, in memory of Officer Johns, by standing with us against hate and leaving a message of support for his family and the Museum:

http://act.ushmm.org/pledge

Your actions help honor Officer Johns and support our critical work teaching the world about the Holocaust and the dangers of unchecked hate. We will not -- and cannot -- be deterred. Together, we will pursue our mission with an even greater sense of urgency.

Thank you for supporting us during this difficult year and into the future.

Sincerely,

Sara Bloomfield

7. I was thinking about this event yesterday.
The man who killed him was around 70, correct? Yet, they let the guy who threatened Bart Stupak out on bond because he's 'elderly' and they didn' think he posed a threat to society?

15. We visited the museum a few months ago. It is not the most popular DC attraction but
definitely worth experiencing. The exhibit on the Nazi propaganda empire -news media, films, popular music, all controlling the message- was particularly relevant.

Show support for Officer Johns memory and check out yet another of DC's amazing museums.

17. Officer Johns is dead, but hatred and bigotry are alive and well
What's wrong with this picture?

RIP, Officer Johns.
