Fighting Them Over There So We Don't Have To Fight Them Here...

I'm sorry but I just cannot find any justification for the continuing deaths of innocent civilians simply because they don't claim American Citizenship....We must leave, obviously this is just the latest in the tens of thousands of the seemingly never ending body count in this so called American named "War On Terror", I wonder just who the surviving family members believe the real terrorists to be at this point in time, I know if such were occurring in this country, imagine the outcry and yet barely a bleep does this never ending body count receives on our nations main media outlets..we should be ashamed of ourselves, blows me away that the main voting issues seem to be if gays can get married or a woman's right to choose, the hypocrisy is sickening..

US-led forces have killed at least 21 civilians in an air strike in southern Afghanistan, local officials say.

The US-led coalition said one of its troops died in fighting in Sangin, but it had no reports of civilian deaths.

Mounting civilian casualties have caused an outcry in Afghanistan, with foreign forces accused of carelessness.

snip

Wednesday's reported deaths came a day after the US military said it was "deeply ashamed" over the killings of 19 Afghan civilians by US Marines in early March

snip

Nato said it was "unaware, at this time, of any Nato air strikes resulting in civilian casualties over the past 24 hours".

snip

A statement from the American-led task force in Afghanistan, which works outside Nato command in counter-terrorism operations, confirmed that US special forces were in the area.

snip

It said they had been working alongside the Afghan national army and had come under mortar, rocket and small arms fire while on patrol 25km (15 miles) north of Sangin

The US military has denied reports a helicopter fired on a school in Iraq but confirms seven people died in an attack against militants in the area.

Iraqi security sources had said a US helicopter killed a number of children at a primary school in Diyala province, north-east of Baghdad.

The US said it had attacked insurgents placing a bomb, killing two of them.
US troops on the ground said locals told them five civilians, including two children were also killed.

The US statement said: "The cause of the civilian casualties is the subject of an ongoing Task Force Lightning investigation."

The Iraqi sources had said the al-Hadef primary school in the village of al-Nedawat was fired on.

3. There needs to be video's of these horrific acts, perhaps the American
people might pay more attention if it has more of a movie of the week theme...and your right, sadly far too many citizens of this country have proven that the ethnicity of people matters as far as how much they might care about such carnage...my own husband refuses to aknowledge how horrific all this is....honsestly tells me to move to iraq if I am so worried about them over there, tells me it is unamerican to care about others in what he calls a time of war...stunning and sickening.

5. I don't know if I could stay married to a man that callous.
I applaud you for sticking it out, but geesh that really sounds abusive.

Sorry that was a little personal...........

Anyways, yes, I too am more than a little shocked when people I thought were decent compassionate people suddenly turned into hateful fucks post 911. I guess we all have an ugly underbelly someplace????

4. I can't think of any phrase that bothers me more than this one.
Did anyone bother to ask the Iraqi people if it was ok if we just borrowed their country to use as our battlefield? I would like the religious hard right to explain to me how they can be Christian and believe in this, unless they think Iraqis are less then real people. And those Boortz (sp?) types that spew on about kids being cowards (re VT tragedy)while promoting the destruction of a country for the purpose and benefit of the oil corporations should really look in the mirror.
