Senate turns back plan to block EPA climate rules

The Senate on Thursday turned back a largely GOP plan to block EPA greenhouse gas rules, voting 47-53 to stave off what would have been a major blow to the White House and Democratic climate agenda.

Fifty-one votes would have been needed in favor of the plan to advance it toward a final vote.

The vote is a victory for the White House – which threatened a veto – and environmental groups that lobbied against Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) resolution.

1. Democratic Friends of Old Energy

Based on today's vote, while a positive for the environmental activist community, it is now clear who's siding with the old energy companies, poor air quality and the poor misguided people who think that global warming is some hoax.

Ladies and gentleman we has some problem children in our midst:

Mark Pryor, Evan Bayh, Ben Nelson, Jay Rockefeller, Blanche Lincoln and Mary Landrieu.
