To understand the impact of the BP oil disaster, read what oil had done to Louisiana

and it's environment and culture pre-disaster.

Bayou Farewell: The Rich Life and Tragic Death of Louisiana's Cajun Coast by Mike Tidwell portrays the changing land and life of a fascinating American state through the lives of families, workers, scientists who study the area. Tidwell points out engineering mistakes on the Mississippi and the influence of Big Oil on the land and lives of the fishing communities. With the latest disaster, that life will be gone forever.
This is a tragedy beyond measure.
