My solution to the BP problem.
Okay, so we build a special submarine in the shape of a plug, install the drone technology into it, and ram it into the hole. Balls to the wall, boys!

2. Good thread. Covers some good ground. Okay, here's what I think.
We have a fleet of drone subs that go in one after the other, hopefully pushing down as far as possible. In addition, once they reach desired depth they're anchored to the edges of the pipe like so: outlets will seep out a fluid that expands in the water the way that Great Stuff foamy thingie expands and then hardens.

What do you think? Should four sub drones do the job?

4. Then the only option would be to improve on the pipe.
