1. I'd be happy with either/or/both
I think it would definitely step up the competition.

2. Maybe they'll enter as a ticket late in the game
when the field is whittled down. Al Gore at a podium announcing his candidacy and then introducing his running mate, Four Star General Wes Clark.

3. I watched the Lee Iocacca interview on cspan over the weekend.
He was asked about when people were clammoring for HIM to run for President, much as some are clammoring for Gore today. He said he thought about it, and had dinner with Tipp O'Neil, a close friend, to ask what he thought about it. Tipp said "HELL NO!" Told Lee he'd be dead from a heart attack within a year! "Lee, you are used to calling a meeting, discussing a proble, deciding collectively how to fix it, and having it done. THAT'S not the way it works in Washington. You just couldn't handle it!"

I see Gore's situation similar to Lee's. Although Gore DOES know how things operate in Washington, he also knows what a BIG MESS Shrub has created, and I think he's not going to run because whoever gets to TRY to straighten this mess out is going to have a very, very difficult time doing so. Personally, I can't imagine whay ANYONE would want ot take the damn job!e are WAY TOO MANY decisions that are going to have to be made that are going to pi** of the general public!
