Make these standard issue on all vehicles, force the automakers to
come up with their own version, extend service intervals as much as we can.

1. Far better to switch to non-petroleum-based synthetic oils
as lubricants. All these filters do is delay the oil change cycle, and at a cost that only make sense for large oil capacity engines. For cars, these filters are not economically sound.

API Group V based lubricants are a far better idea.

That said, these centrifugal filters are very efficient in removing abrasive and other particles from motor oil. It's overkill, however, for automobile engines, which now last well over 100,000 miles with zero rebuilds. My ancient 91 Volvo is at over 170,000 miles and the engine is still intact, without even the cylinder head having been removed.

2. The more often you change the oil the longer your engine will last..
I use Shell Rotella T diesel engine oil in my motorcycle since the engine oil lubricates the gearbox as well as the engine (not so in cars). Gearboxes are hard on regular engine oil because of the vigorous shearing action in a gearbox.
