when everyone around me were radical supporters of those 3, let me tell you how lonely it was and how you felt you were the only one seeing the evil these prezinuts were because there was no such thing as DU or the internet. Reagans era of terror was especially rough because so many brain dead mixed up the man with the movie actor image. Why is beyond me as to be honest I seen everyone of his movies growing up and not one movie was worth watching, though Bonzo out shined Reagans drool over acting and saved the movie. I also remember how Cali kept telling the rest of the country Reagan was a lier and he was a politician right to the core, but america blew them off as either being out in the sun to long or they were getting good mexican dirt weed nuts that were either to stupid or high to see what a great man Reagan was. When you sat down with a layed off GM worker, who was layed off because of Reagans anti union big business tactics, and had them touting the latest Reagan talking point about how GM was just a good guy business that was trying to reshape its production lines for the benefit of the american worker. Hitting your head on a brick wall was the only way to stop the pain in your head. After being layed off for 4 years the GM worker started seeing that he was making a mistake about Reagan, but Reagan needed another chance at making things right. Then everyone wonders why drug abuse was rampant in the 80's, it was the only way democratic voters could remain sane.

Nixon was at 23% when he resigned. Every little morsel of cosmic vitriol here at DU and elsewhere in the universe is all adding to that teensie-weenie little 5% more we need to insert this oaf into NIXON territory.

The fact that our docile and poorly educated populace can slice through the skewed MSM propaganda machine and rate this cretin so low in spite of the daunting systemic obstacles courtesy of the entrenched rich and powerful is heartwarming.

Gives me hope that we may once again be a great country of hope and generosity and compassion in my lifetime. I've got maybe 20 or 30 years left and I think I will indeed live long enough to witness the damage of GWB repaired by those with the vision to do it.
