Quake just rattled San Diego
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 12:00 AM by itsrobert
Not much here, depends where it hit. Rattled for about 10 seconds. 92124

Edit, it really felt like two separated by about 5 seconds.

UPDATE: KCAL 9 reports play was stopped during Padres Game at Petco. Shook Petco. Also, family near epicenter in Ocotillo said it threw them about 3 feet in the air while they were in Mobile Home.

1. It was actually two shocks - one slip (sort of a bounce) and a roller -
If LA is feeling it, it was probably out by Borrago Springs.

4. It was twice the time
in Orange County. Kind of like two quakes. I got the family out of the house when it continued after the initial shake and started to roll (but I started out by scolding my sweet kitty for shaking the bed! Poor thing.)

9. Ouch, I hope family members are okay -
I remember getting thrown out of a chair during the Landers quake back in the early 70s. Got a couple nasty bruises. Three feet because the ground dropped beneith you can break bones- especially in old people or very young children.

10. Felt it in OC.
Nothing that us Californians can't handle though. :)

11. You know we all huddle around the USGS page
these days...

Funny, to a point...

Local weather man said that it was the movement around the Salton Sea and of course that all they are getting smaller than the main shock...

He IS the weatherman... but they might have called Doctor Abbott to ask...

(Abbott from the Geology Dept. at SDSU)
