i'm a big fan of tammy faye.

she did wrong -- paid for it -- and became a genuine human being.

warm and funny -- and certainly along with her son -- a support of the lgbtq community.

i want her to get well -- but failing that -- may she dance forever and ever with the saints to tune of god's music.

may laughter and love greet her every day.

and may she come to know all the people out here who just appreciated hr for the wonderful and funny and genuine person she came to be.

At first I found him offputting in the film but as time went on I was very impressed. I hope his ministry is going well.

He gave up an awful alot to stick up for his beliefs. He really did the right thing and should be proud.

but I wish her well, in this world and the next. Maybe someday no-one will have to endure such suffering. Whatever her real convictions, may they give her strength.

When I was still working, I had the chance to interview her - on the phone mainly, but it was a real pleasure. She was down-to-earth, didn't take herself a bit seriously, cheerful, kind, very chatty - sort of girlfriend-chatty, candid, friendly, in good humor about everything - and back then it was all still pretty fresh, and her suffering and humiliation was still freshly plastered all over everywhere. By now, people have forgotten, mostly. Which is a merciful thing.

I liked her. I couldn't help it. She was just really likeable and what you saw and heard was what you got. And she knew she'd become kind of a cartoon. Sorta like Dolly Parton in a way, she didn't shy away from it but rather embraced it with very good humor. There wasn't a question she didn't meet head-on and answer fully and honestly. She'd been through a lot and freely admitted to everything, yet she just kept on keepin' on. You have to admire that. I certainly had to.

at all, she's dropped so much weight from her already small self and she was so weak. It was so sad.

I really got a better understanding of her true beliefs on VH1's "Surreal Life" (I know, reality TV)

My opinion of her rose dramatically after watching it.

I used to think she was a joke just like most people, but she went through her trial by fire and discovered a new life beyond the charlatan world she had come to live in.

television show "The Surreal Life 2" on VH-1. A group of Television/Hollywood has beens live in a house and get eliminated by secret vote like on the reality series Big Brother. I watched a little of it mostly because Tammy Faye has always intrigued me. The cast featured Traci Bingham, Ron Jeremy ( the porn star) , Tammy Faye Baker, Trishelle Cannatella, Erik Estrada and Vanilla Ice. Tammy was amazing on that show.. everyone made fun of her and although it was clear her feelings were hurt, she was a terrific sport, kept smiling and was as supportive of the others as anyone could be.

I am not sure how the show ended, but it seemed to me that most of the cast were touched by her unwavering sweetness... Who knows why she was on the show to begin with.. cancer treatments can be very expensive. She was always aware of her failings but tried to see the best in every situation and everyone, at least as far as I have seen.

Tammy Faye interests me because of her stance on gay rights, being one of the very few to acknowledge gays/lesbians as human beings and Christians while surrounded by her very judgmental peers... I have seen singers and preachers on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and Praise the Lord Club speak to "the deluded" who believe they can still be Christians while being gay... they are absolutely unforgiving towards their gay believers and they condemn them all to hell unless they 'change their ways'... only Tammy Faye held fast to her belief that everyone is a child of God regardless of their sins or their sexuality...and she spoke out about it... I think that is remarkable seing as how she came out of the TBN/PTL cabal.

She was on one of the TBN shows a few months ago asking for their prayers because she knew she was dying...They used her, of course, but she was there sincerely and I don't think she ever realized how she was exploited by the tele-evangelicals.

She seemed to me to be more like a child than anything else...bewildered by her notoriety but with a truly good heart.

So I hope her passing is painless, peaceful and filled with the light that I always saw shining from her.

She was really cool when she played Mimi's mother on the Drew Carey show. Definitely a sense of humor and ability to laugh at herself.

She doesn't deserve such a hard end. I hope her passage is peaceful. I loved her after I saw the documentary, "The Eyes of Tammy Faye." She is quite a lady. Actually, Jim Bakker is a changed man after prison as well. He has a TV show again, but it's more like an old-style secular variety show than anything. He has repudiated his "prosperity" message and focuses much of his ministry on the poor. His book, "I Was Wrong" was quite eye-opening. And their son - Jay - well, he's just a remarkable human being. A jewel of a man.

I've only paid cursory attention to her over the years, and had no idea until this afternoon that she was dying of cancer.

Back in the day, I appreciated and applauded the fact that she divorced that sleazebag, Jim Bakker. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted by her sense of humor when she occasionally played a guest stint on certain tv shows.

Furthermore, speaking as a woman who has always found great joy in letting my freak flag fly, I never held Tammy Faye's mascara excesses against her.

And just now, while doing a quick a search for some basic biographical information about her, I've found out that she was born in International Falls, Minnesota -- the beloved "Icebox" of my home state!

I wish her a good journey, and have every confidence that she will have one.

Go in peace, Tammy Faye! Pity the world that will be short one wildwoman.
