3. No idea, but Whois lists that domain name as available
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 12:18 AM by csziggy
Kind of interesting.

Ah! Wikipedia knows:
"DreamHost is a Los Angeles-based web hosting provider and domain name registrar. It is the web hosting branch of New Dream Network, LLC, founded in 1996 by Dallas Bethune, Josh Jones, Michael Rodriguez and Sage Weil, undergraduate students at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, and registered in 1999 by Michael Rodriguez.<2><3> DreamHost began hosting customers' sites in 1997." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DreamHost

I'll bet they are doing this for publicity.

Not the person that owns the domain.

4. Here is what it says at the very bottom of the site:
"Update: We spoke to Mr. Alvin Greene earlier today (June 10th, 2010) about this web site. Mr. Greene said he would not want this to be considered the authoritative campaign site. He reiterated this on the Keith Olbermann show this evening. This is an unofficial, grassroots support site."

7. It's a proxy host
It's a proxy host. GoDaddy.com offers the same service with the "domains by proxy" feature. If I had $15 to spare, I'd look at the domain registrant history to see who owned it before dreamhost proxy services, that would be the culprit. The domain is only 5 days old, the history would be fresh if you can get it.

...claims to have made the site:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x8537624

After hearing about Alvin Greene, and how he had no web site etc. I decided to have a little fun. I registered http://www.alvingreene2010.com yesterday and put up a web site, which is the same as it is now except there is more stuff saying it is unofficial now. I linked it to Wikipedia. Then all three Alvin Greene Twitter accounts linked to the web site and said it was the official site - I did not control the most popular two, mine only had four followers. I also went on Facebook and made an account for him - I currently have 73 friends, many of them from Manning, originally at least. They are all talking about Alvin on their Facebook walls.

I also called Alvin's house a few times yesterday and spoke with him, and I believe his father as well (although his brother is there as well).

Obviously those who know best are those familiar with him, his family, the area and the like. I suspect black reporters from South Carolina would be best at learning the whole story.

I think this is one of the best stories I've read, and seems the most close and accurate -

http://free-times.com/index.php?cat=1992209084141467&ac...

I have been getting a lot of emails and messages, and have talked to the Greene's a little, so maybe I have a slight insight into this. I think there are two important things to consider here in all the mystery, only one of which has been discussed somewhat in the press, the other one maybe implied in only the Free Times article...

11. Claims?
What claims, I made the site.

You people are getting as paranoid as Alex Jones and the teabaggers.

Maybe if the Democrats concentrated on the Howard Dean 50 states strategy and ran good, progressive candidates, the Democrats wouldn't be having these problems.

The DNC and DSCC threw in the towel on the South Carolina race before it began. There candidate didn't win, so NOW they are complaining. I wish they had expended this much energy before the race. The truth is the DNC/DSCC cared so little about this race, someone who didn't even campaign won. Now the Democratic leadership is spinning conspiracy theories to cover their own behind. Even the people on Facebook from Manning who personally know Alvin are buying these bizarre conspiracy theories. GREENE'S OPPONENT HAD LESS THAN 10% NAME RECOGNITION! So how is Greene winning a mystery?

At least there is one Senate candidate advocating a united, democratic Korea. Something almost unimaginable in imperialist AmeriKKKa.

I created a web page for blogslut who puts claims quotations around what I say. Change the letter x below to u to get the web page.

http://www.alvingreene2010.com/dx.html

^^^ This web page won't work, you have to change the x to u to see the message. Point of the message is that yes, this is my web site.

12. Oh, calm down
You made the page. I'm sorry I chose to be cautious about stating that boldly on an anonymous message board but I don't know you from Adam and I've been burned by impostors before. I included part of your original post within a div tag because it looks better and is easier to delineate from body text.

14. If you support him
then take down the Olbermann interview. I could only stand to watch about 30 seconds of it.

I guess Lee ("All three!") Mercer was busy.
