Ollie North: Doomed?
Doomed?
By convicted felon Oliver North | June 14, 2010

It was a gentle rebuke while I stood in line to pay for a cup of coffee at a truck stop just off I-95, a few miles from Fort Bragg: "You folks in the media have a hard time getting things right don't you?"

"How's that?" I responded to the bearded gentleman behind me. I had seen him dismount from the cab of a Peterbilt, over-the-road, long-haul 18-wheeler. He looked to be about my age and was wearing a grey T-Shirt emblazoned with one word: "Army."

"You're Ollie North," he said, acknowledging that my sunglasses and a black Fox News baseball hat weren't much of a disguise.

He introduced himself as a U.S. Army veteran of the war we had shared four decades ago in Vietnam. He kindly noted that I had been embedded with his son's unit in Afghanistan and as we exited the restaurant, he got to the nature of his complaint. Pointing to a newspaper vending machine on the sidewalk, he said, "That headline, ‘Afghanistan Now Longest U.S. War' is wrong. And I've been hearing the same thing on the radio for the past five hundred miles. Anybody who thinks Afghanistan is our longest war doesn't know history and that means we're doomed to repeat it. I've crisscrossed the ‘Trail of Tears' a couple of dozen times with this rig. My great-great grandfather fought the Apaches for better than twenty years. And Afghanistan is nothing like Vietnam. You set ‘em straight, Colonel."

I replied, "Roger that," and with his challenge ringing in my ears, we shook hands, mounted our metal steeds and rode off in different directions.

13. Go tell that to a holocaust survivor.

There have been far more wars that weren't worth fighting than ones that were, but there have been a few of the latter.

Almost always, the justifiable wars have been wars against something rather than wars for something - there are very few goods great enough to justify war, but some evils so great that it's worth fighting a war to prevent them.

2. North made a traitorous statement while subbing on Rush Limblah's show
In the mid-nineties Oliver North guest hosted for Limblah. And during that program he said the following words, "If I knew of any harm that would come to the president I would do nothing to stop it.". Oiliver North condoned and even encouraged Limblah's deranged audience to kill the president. This is the same felon who lied to Congress. North likes to tout his service as a Colonel in the Marines, but when a soldier gives an oath to his county it is for life. But North's comment said he would do nothing to stop an assassination attempt on President Clinton.

I reported North's treasonous remark to the Secret Service and to the White House but I suppose if they went after North they probably felt as if they would suffer politically. So they didn't do what would have been the right thing to do and go after North for making a threatening statement against a sitting president.

What's up with that Ollie? Making sure the Iranians are equipped to shoot at our honorable US armed forces? You Homelanders are a worrisome lot for Americans.

11. Why do right wingers worship traitors? REAL traitors???

Can you imagine what the right would do if a democrat did what he did? They would demand he be executed. We have a battle not between political parties going on in our country, but a battle between GOOD (progressives) and EVIL (conservatives).

Conservatives are against every one of Jesus' teachings.

we shook hands, recited the pledge of allegiance, poured a fresh quart of 40 weight over our heads, cleared our AR15s, compared penis lengths, had a slice of apple pie, said a prayer to protestant Jesus, then mounted our metal steeds and rode off in different directions."
