Smart move, on the part of our Aristocratic Overlords. The 1930s - the 1970s showed unacceptable gains by the Little People eating into Aristocratic Divine Right of Rule & 90% of all wealth.

By the aformementioned method, combined with dozens of others, we return to the past, which in many senses we never left, but for energy budget and technological advance.

15. It's in BP's economic best-interest to not clean up a damn thing.
Since tbey can't do that, the next best thing is to surpress the story and control the narrative. That is far, far cheaper than actually cleaning up the oil from the water and land and paying for the economic losses of the region.



Businesses only have as many morals as they absolutely need. And when you're a transnational corporation with a quarter-trillion dollars in annual revenue, you need virtually no morals at all, because it is a liability.
