Gonzales Stuns Colleagues: "I Work For The White House, You Work For The White House"
Edited on Wed May-09-07 06:47 PM by kpete
"I work for the White House, you work for the White House"

In an interview today with The Seattle Times, fired U.S. Attorney John McKay recalls this:

McKay said he began to have concerns about politics entering the Justice Department in early 2005, when Gonzales addressed all of the country's U.S. attorneys in Scottsdale, Ariz., shortly after he took over as attorney general.

"His first speech to us was a 'you work for the White House' speech," McKay recalled.
" 'I work for the White House, you work for the White House.' "

McKay said he thought at the time, "He couldn't have meant that speech," given the traditional independence of U.S. Attorneys. "It turns out he did."

He looked around the meeting room and caught the eyes of his colleagues, who gave him looks of surprise at Gonzales' remarks. "We were stunned at what he was saying."

Alberto Gonzales - Confirmation Hearing
January 6, 2005

"With the consent of the Senate, I will no longer represent only the White House;
I will represent the United States of America and its people.
I understand the differences between the two roles."

they keep Alcatraz open to tourists and let the tourists spit and (use your imagination) on them.

What night is that the special?

Oh, and send them to Abu Ghraib, and then turn it over to the Iraqis. I'm sure they will treat them well. We could even install 24 hour video cameras just to make sure. Should be an interesting channel to watch on cable.

14. Excuse me but your dealing with brain dead neo cons that have a loud 28% base with lots of cash that
tells them they are the LEADERS and we the people are the indentured servents of the government. How else can you explain that ideal that after paying for every government program or parents and grand parents who paid into those programs and never used any of those programs they payed for, your not entitled to use these programs you paid for but people who never paid a dime in taxes because of off shore banking, tax give aways and tax loop holes, ( my favorite one is the one that you give a charity money you then can get a government refund for that charity money you spent, which the rich have used to get out of paying any taxes by giving to charity the exact amount that they would have paid on their taxes)are entitled to use programs that the rest of us pay into. Things that make you want to say DOH over.

38. Actually, I think a lot of our taxes...
go to pay down the debt and Japan owns a lot of the Public Debt.

You see, we are a Debtor Nation, we have to borrow money all the time.

Other countries own that debt and keep buying more, gee, I wonder why? So does that mean that other countries really pays their salary...so wouldn't that make them all employees of...the other countries

These Neocons need to be excommunicated, stripped of citizenship, have their bank accounts siezed and nationalized, have their properties taken by the feds and sold at auction. Give all the proceeds to whomever, I don't care, even to the RNC if it gets the job done.

FUCK TRIALS - COURTS - JAILS

Just remove them from our country as quickly as possible please dump them off in China / India / Brazil

The only thing Neocons respect / understand as punishment is being treated worse than they treat others.

but why the hell didn't any of the attorneys in attendance, who heard him say this, say anything, how could they sit quiet and not contact someone about this? He violates his oath when he "represents only the WH".

For the love of god, how many people have sat quiet and kept their jobs to the detriment of our nation, their silence is as responsible for the hundreds of thousands of deaths under this regime as is the folks in the house they "work for".
