4. He's speaking the truth about how dire the gulf oil disaster is.
He's had Dennis Kucinich and Katrina Vanden Heuvel on so far. I mean the truth is that this is a doom and gloom scenario if BP isn't slapped down to size.

3. But tweety DID say one thing right..........
Pat Bukkkanan was on, defending Joseph McCarthy (saying that during McCarthy's time in office, 50% of the people thought he was doing a good job).
Tweety said "Don't listen to Pat Buchanan, he is part of the problem."

6. Yes, he did stick his neck out for a change.
It was good to see that he actually understands that ole Pat is toxic.

8. and tell me, you don't feel gloom and doom?
I am a very positive optimist, and I have very low levels of hope for our country. The politics and corporate greed have become that bad.

11. Sometimes reality sucks ass. Without strong action things will fail to come out right
So called "pragmatists" need to look at the depth and scope of our problems when setting expectations, demanding resources, and formulating solutions and cut it out with the mickey mouse and spin.

If you are in Iowa and needing to get to Seattle then a ride to New York or even Indiana just ain't helping.

Shit, on a good day they come up with a plan that will give you four dollars and a pen. Maybe, just maybe that will allow you to buy a piece of poster board to make up a sign with but still no actual plan to go to Seattle.

Real pragmatist would be and are demanding systemic change because buddy we are way past fucked without it.

I'm a life long devotee to incrementalism but that approach demands a goal and that each step move you toward it in a time frame that allows the benefit to be reaped. You also can't take steps that make it less likely to reach the goal.

We are fucked if we don't commit to a new path. You can't escape the gravity of entropy the way we are operating.

Big Ed is far too naively optimistic.
