Gore's alleged affair and BP

Some tabloids are saying Al Gore had an affair with Laurie David, an environmentalist and Larry David's wife. Laurie David has denied that this has ever happened. I went to http://www.algore.com looking for news on this scandal, and instead only learned how BP contractors have been given power to deny press ability to photograph the spill and other such news.

How come when the news should be full of the comments of a well known environmentalist like Al Gore about the BP spill, we instead have some mysterious entity calling the scandal rags and making up stories about who he may or may not be sleeping with?

I thought some of the stuff Ross said was loony, but this was not one of those things - Ross knows what it is to get on the wrong end of these people.
