MSNBC hammering Obama on speech.
This was the worst speech I've ever heard from Obama and if MSNBC isn't giving him a pass on it, one can only imagine what's going to happen in less friendly confines.

24. MSNBC was one long Obama commercial during the Primaries.
You're thinking of CNN that might as well have called itself the Clinton National News

17. Um, no. it was about as good as it could have been -- and Obama filleted BP
My takeaway:

-- The nation was lied to by BP.
-- We're doing everything within our abilities.
-- Renewable energy is an issue (unsaid but clear: GOPers whining or complaining will have the BP oil spill hung around their necks like an albatross)

6. KO seemed pissed off
at the President. No details on HOW 90% of the oil is to be captured - no details on how/where/who is going to take charge of the payouts to the oil spil victims - no details on the climate bill and what is going on with that - and on and on. KO even "god damnned" once.

10. It's a 15 minute address to the nation.
He cannot cram 3 hours of policy into 15 minutes without warping the laws of time and space.

There were certain topics they wanted to cover.

Honest to fucking Christ, if he had spent the whole time talking about exactly how much money he was going to make BP pay out, the focus would be on "It's too much!" vs. "It's not enough!"

excellent dog paddling.

Well, at least it wasn't 17 minutes of straight-out lies like bush would've given us. We should feel blessed.

18. this speech was nothing more than a "fuck you" from the President to us.
He might as well have said BP wrote the speech for him. What weak sauce. He's going to go begging to BP tomorrow that pretty please, won't they set aside some little money for the massive destruction they caused?

If Obama was representing us rather than BP, he would have said he was nationalizing the company, seizing their banking assets, and pursuing criminal charges against the management (including murder, for the deaths of the 11 workers).

What a joke of a speech.

21. That wasn't his worst speech
His worst speech by far was the one regarding Afghanistan which sounded like he took one of Chimpy's old speeches on the subject, rewrote it so it was in actual English, but left all the fucking bullshit "war on terra" talking points, including the outright lie that the Taliban had even the remotest connection to 9-11-01.

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that bullshit coming from someone who HAS to know better than to actually believe it. :evilfrown:

made were spot on.

We are fucked on this oil spill.

Oh, except he's going to clean up 90% of the oil that has spilled pretty soon. He has a SECRET plan.
