Democrats Block GOP Effort To Roll Back Provisions Of Health Care Law

WASHINGTON � House Democrats have easily defeated a Republican attempt to roll back a major provision of the nation's new health care law requiring most people to get health insurance.

Republicans tried to amend a small business tax bill with a provision that would have eliminated the mandate. Republican Rep. Dave Camp of Michigan called the requirement "one of the most onerous provisions of the new health care law.

Making my family pay for care we will never be able to afford to use because of copays and deductibles is a crime.

None of the working class families I know have 5k sitting around just waiting for little Suzy to get sick. So little Suzy will be at the free clinic or making due with over the counter remedies like she always did. The only difference is that instead of waiting until the illness is life-threatening and having to go to the emergency room for "care", their family will also owe 5k to some fucking corporate crook. I'm sure the hospital will bill it so she owes 50 copays too. Yippee.
