Fox News - "Obama's Oil Spill Speech Turns to Energy Policy, Fueling Capitol Crossfire"
Amazing! I personally thought that President Obama should have put more emphais on pushing for the passage of a new energy bill, rather than simply reviewing the current disaster, but the folks who live in the reality that is a right wing media thought even the relatively brief discussion of energy independence was too much policy.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/15/obamas-pitch-energy-speech-gulf-crisis-infuriates-republicans/

"Instead of leveraging this crisis to manufacture knee-jerk political support for cap-and-trade energy taxes, President Obama should focus on providing the people of the Gulf with real and honest solutions to this horrible environmental disaster that this administration has been slow in waking up to," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said in a written statement.

Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., said Obama "is trying to exploit this disaster to pass his national energy tax."

"Stop exploiting this disaster to pass this cap-and-trade tax," he said.

The congressman was referring to the "cap-and-trade" legislation that Democrats have been trying to push through Congress since last year. After the House approved a version of the bill last June, the Senate has been sitting on the proposal while other issues like health care and financial regulation moved to the front of the legislative line.

3. Personally, I Would Have Liked Even More Advocacy Of Clean Energy Bill
I really did not need President Obama to tell me that the spill is horrible and will threaten the livelihoods of millions. I've been seeing this for weeks now. We do not have the technology to stop the spill before the damage has been done. What I would have liked to have seen is an even stronger committment to pushing for an energy bill.

But, for Fox News, even that little bit of advocacy, which really just stated the obvious, was politicizing the oil spill.

Seriously!!! Do Republicans really oppose energy independence? Since when did Energy independence become a partisan issue? Are Republicans for being dependent on foreign oil?

4. I am getting tired of being lied to
That pathetic speech by our so-called leader was a bunch of hog snot. BP and the federal government knew this was WAY worse from day one. Now we are being told to pray for shrimpers and that the beaches will be restored to their original condition. Pluheeze!! That won't happen in our lifetimes. As for the the "new" estimate of oil flow, that is nothing new. Scientists have been saying that for months. Even a writer for, OMG! The Examiner!!! wrote about that a month ago. You can read it here: http://www.examiner.com/x-38220-Orlando-Independent-Exa... . If someone can sit on a PC and give the facts a month before the government, BP and the corporate media does, you have to know we are being lied to and conditioned to slowly accept the true magnitude of this disaster. Furthermore, there are enough toxins in the air from evaporating oil without burning more. Here's another: http://www.examiner.com/x-38220-Orlando-Independent-Examiner~y2010m6d15-Toxins-in-air-from-evaporating-oil-may-pose-greater-threat-to-Gulf-residents-than-oily-water This disaster is already out of hand!

2. Hey clusterfox! Who's spilling oil into the gulf? Of course, you can't
say that! Master Rupert won't let you say BP, since you're giving them a reach around!

5. Looks to me like they already gave BP the reach around
and now we're left changing the sheets.
