How refreshing to have a President who actually works for a living.
Edited on Wed Jun-16-10 03:12 PM by Bluebear
I wish I had the statistics of how many days off on "working vacations" #44 has had in comparison to dry-drunk "working"-"ranch"-vacation #43 took at this point in their Presdencies. Just sayin'.

11. And how many bicycle days or hours did Bushie take?
I remember one time there was something important that needed a president and he was off biking at some federal land or park near D.C.

20. My guess is, Obama's
"golf days" involve only slightly less work than his working days do.

6. Yea, but honestly, it isn't a high bar to improve on Bush
That is setting the bar awful damn low.

7. I often think of Bush saying that essentially his work day ended at around 5pm,
and I envision Obama generally working, reading, on the phone, researching, pretty much every waking hour.

12. I was reading in Jonathan Alter's book he goes to have dinner
with Michelle and the girls then will come back to the office or be reading briefing books. He's a bit of a night owl like Clinton.

16. I'm about 2/3rds through it
Probably doesn't tell much more than a good DU'er knows but I like it. Good coverage of the first year from a inside the WH perspective.

8. Here are some statistics:
Obama took 26 days of vacation during his first year.

Reagan took 42 days.

Dubya took 69 days.

Carter took 19 days.

Clinton took 21 days.

Once again, Democrats work, Republicans vacation. :eyes:

14. Of the time he's taken (Martha's Vineyard & Hawaii) how many did he work due to circumstances?
How much of a vacation was the Vineyard when he was writing a Eulogy and attending the funeral for Sen. Kennedy :( or working on the incidences of the would be Christmas bomber

So I think the 26 days is a very high number, maybe count that as the number of attempted days... Regardless, he's not taken that much time...

13. I was pissed at all the MSM whining when he took a short
Memorial Day weekend in Chicago, and even then he had gone to the Gulf first on Friday then the Memorial Day cemetery visit in Chicago.

And all the damn RW whackos trying to paint him as unpatriotic for not being at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Geeesh!
