Morning Joe host Mika: Giuliani’s ‘baseless lies’ on spill left us stunned

MSNBC's Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski accused former Mayor Rudy Giuliani of coming on the show last week to "vomit out complete, baseless lies."

Appearing on the show last Thursday, Giuliani claimed that the Obama administration had not talked with oil industry experts about how to stop the leaking well.

But Brzezinski said Monday the former New York mayor did not have his facts straight and initially left the hosts "stunned."

Still, Brzezinski's defense of Obama came under fire for being one-sided when co-host Joe Scarborough alluded to a file of "talking points" on the set supplied by administration officials, according to NewsBusters.org

"Do you want to know why I have a file that I have been working on with the White House?" she asked guest and former General Electric CEO Jack Walsh. "Because of your friend Rudy Giuliani who came on here last week spewing out a whole bunch of nothing."

How nice that they recognize these things within the same calendar month, though not in anything like real time. Do you suppose either of these cretins will actually begin to justify their fat salaries by being actually prepared before their pals come onto the set to spew out "a whole bunch of nothing"? A guy can dream, can't he?

Really, it's nauseating. They sure don't discuss that dead intern found in Joe's office right before he resigned from Congress and got a divorce, do they?

I watched that exchange and wondered if someone had slipped a tab of acid in my coffee because I was sure I was hallucinating. Mika wasn't just resolute with her argument, she was pissed.

That whole show is just fake poutrage. The more the merrier as far as the network is concerned. I'm not buying it.

I've seen Mika tack right one day, left the next (usually not as forcefully as in this case, or simply drowned out by Joe's loud, overbearing expression of his POV). It may very well be that these "conflicts" are staged to generate more viewer interest in the show.
