Jack Jacobs says McChrystal will be fired
Edited on Tue Jun-22-10 11:41 AM by malaise
He also said that McChrystal's views on the Administration are widely held in the military.

1. The military serves the people of the United States of America.
Most of us voted to put Barack Obama in office.

The military needs to respect him and the wishes of the people, or get out of the military.

Deal with it, folks.

4. Another BushCo gift to the CiC and America.
A completely politicized military.

I will bet any amount of money that McCrystal is still talking to Cheney's people.

8. And so are the Blackwater people
You know what Machiavelli thought of mercenaries and their lack of loyalty to everything but riches.

6. I love when they use the term "widely held", it is the same as...
"some say", imo. "widely held" more likely means McCrystal and a few other higher-ups who know they cannot climb the ladder as quickly if there is no 'war' ongoing.

Pathetic but not surprising.

11. Exactly. I can just as easily say Bush is "widely hated"
in the military with maybe some anecdotes to "back it up" and I'd have just as much evidence.

I want him knocked down in rank and forced to scrub toilets with a toothbrush.

9. Jacobs is a neocon fomenting dissent in the ranks.
He'd cross the Rubicon if he could get away with it.

He in no way speaks for the entire US Military, and it wouldn't matter 2 shits if he did.

McChrystal needs to be relieved of command - his whole COIN strategy is an abject failure and he has lost the confidence of his own troops.

The insubordination and conduct unbecoming is just icing on the cake.

13. Recommended.
Remember this: there are two groups of anti-Obama people in the military. The first, which includes people like McChrystal and also "retired" intel/journalists like Jacobs, dispise him because of who he is. It is the same passionate dislike they had for JFK in the 1960s. The second group dispises him because the hate what the US government has become; they had come to hate Bush & Cheney for using them to fight oil, gas, and mineral wats, and they believe that Obama is continuing that greedy, vulturistic policy.

The potential dangers that each group poses should never be underestimated.

14. there are over a million people in the military
on active duty right now.

I'm pretty sure Jack has no idea what the views of the administration are in the military.

I'm sure among the conservative officer corps they don't like him, but they wouldn't like any democrats in general.

I'm sure the enlisted corps has a more even view.

I'll tell you this much, as an officer, I know plenty of other officers who think Bush was horrible.

15. During my Time on Active Duty
The more training and education you needed to perform your job the more liberal the people were.

McCrystal screwed up and needs to either resign or given the option of Seppuku to save face.

America cannot have it's Military leaders disparaging the civilian leadership, it will only cause more problems.

That is why I resigned my commission on 1/15/01 because I knew I could never accept Bush as POTUS and have to take ANY orders from him at all.

Eventually they'll believe the lies.
