14. Procedurally you can.
You can always appeal a preliminary injunction.

And the government is.

6. Strange ruling by the judge. I wonder if Obama could initiate a national state of Emergency
and override the decision out of the safety of the people affected.

22. Why can't the democratically controlled congress pass a law stopping deep drilling???
Where is my government? I want the democrats in congress to shove through legislation to stop this madness. And any republican who votes against it can be branded as a pro-oil, environmental enemy and get slaughtered next election if the democrats began to get tough. I am getting damned tired of compromise and giving in. I want my government to get tough against corporate criminals and their corporate whores, like the judge who ruled in favor of blocking the moratorium.

15. Ed Markey on GEM$NBC now
says the moratorium only affects 33 of over 500 rigs. Judge ignoring safety issues. Once inquiry completed a decision will be made.

My question for the judge is how come deepwater drilling was banned from Bush 1 to July 1008 Bush.

Safety first- fuck the judge

26. They don't live in a real world. They sound and act insane.
They are such an evil force that is against anything good. What's sad are all the completely ignorant fools who listen to their right wing ideologies. Only evil, disturbed, selfish people could buy into what they are 'selling'. I've never seen this much ignorance in the country in my lifetime and it's only getting worse and talk radio and Fox News keeps stoking the fires of hatred, racism, anger and fear. Right wingers are incapable of reason, thought or even a sane thought. They are totally brainwashed.

18. Wonder who he works for?
last night on CNN Jeff Toobin (sp?) pretty much said that the president had a really good case, because of the safety aspect and that the moratorium would likely be upheld. Guess Mr. Toobin didn't consider who was hearing the case. I'm not suprised, but I am disappointed.

19. We need massive demonstrations demanding that Congress outlaw deep water drilling.
The moratorium itself was not nearly enough. Now we need strict law.

27. I'm a Democrat who wants the people of Louisiana to have WORK!
If anybody's read my posts for a long while you'd know I early on supported Barack Obama's candidacy (and contributed to it). I lean left on issues including health care and the environment.

But many thousands of people in Louisiana need jobs. There is no plan which will provide support for many thousands of oil related jobs which would be lost because of the moratorium. What are all those thousands of people supposed to do for 6 months of no work?

The government's attention might be best focused on cleaning up the minerals and mining Services department than suing the state of Louisiana.
