BIG ED! Just Now on C-Span: "Obama has done more for small business than any President in History"
Paraphrasing: No one can seriously say he's pro-corporation. He's initiated more programs, incentives and outright money toward small business and main street projects than any President has. But the money is tight, it's real tight.

This is in response to a caller comment about Obama being pro-corporation,

3. Big Ed's Standing Tall...
The wingnuts try their best...Ed just swats down the talking points. A breath of fresh air on a show that usually features the biggest GOOP shills.

7. The Tarp Money went to contractors who were already doing well..
Contractors didnt hire additional people.. they just kept the ones they had.

The banks sucked up the rest of the money and the cash never made it to the people on the streets who needed it most.

Corporatist or not.. the fat cats are getting fatter.. and there are no jobs, no Cobra and no unemployment benefits.

July is going to be ugly.

8. I think you are confusing TARP with the Stimulus. Two entirely different things.
It's a fact that Obama's stimulus program saved jobs at a rate that hasn't been seen in a very long time.

Furthermore, more than the total value of TARP has been repaid thanks to the interest the banks have paid the government in return.

Unemployment benefits have also been extended multiple times under Obama. Republicans have started filibustering further extensions in an effort to harm Democratic candidates election chances in the Fall. Republicans are playing politics with jobs and benefits of the American people.

10. Are they kidding?
Has "too big to fail" escaped memories so quickly?

What small businesses need is a stable and predictable legal and business environment. Under this President nobody has any idea what tomorrow might bring, as he feels perfectly free to change laws, or come up with new ones on the spot, to suit the whims of the day.

11. You do know it WAS the Bush* Administration that handed out the TARP funds don't you?
Obama was in favor of them doing so and since a very large portion has been repaid with INTEREST it appears it was a wise course of action.

16. Because FDR just looked the other way when it came to small business.
But hell, Ed say this today about Obama, so it MUST be true.
