i have always been a rocker and i think mods are a bunch of silly get
so all you mods
just get on your scooters and haul
from now on this is ROCKER territory

In Before the Parody. It's a reference to the Who's "Quadrophenia," in parody of the usual anti-moderator posts.

The story of "Quadrophenia," specifically the film based on the rock opera, concerns a war between the rockers and the mods in 1960's/1970's Britain. And Sting's in it. It's cool.

So "mods" is not a reference to "moderators" but to "mods" as in the British style of the 1960's.

British youth culture in the early 1960s. "Moderns" who liked ska and "Rockers" who liked rock and roll. They had occasional riots.

Watch the movie "Quadrophenia." Sting is in it.

Funny thing is Pete Townsend is really a God to me in many ways, no other songs are quite like his. What's funny is this, I'm mostly anti-classic rock. Of all the bands of that era, I say give me The Who. Was lucky enough to see them live at a Day on the Green in Oakland, backstage an entire mock English pub was set up for them and I got to stand feet from Roger and Pete, an amazing time.

Yep, I say give me The Who, along with a good dose of Ramones, Social Distortion, Dead Kennedy's and Shonen Knife thrown in. Motown goes without saying.

The Mods and Rockers were two conflicting British youth subcultures of the early-mid 1960s.

Gangs of mods and rockers fighting in 1964 sparked a moral panic about British youths, and the two groups were seen as folk devils. The rockers adopted a macho biker gang image, wearing clothes such as black leather jackets. The mods adopted a pose of scooter-driving sophistication, wearing suits and other cleancut outfits. By late 1966, the two subcultures had faded from public view and media attention turned to two new emerging youth subcultures — the hippies and the skinheads.



Rockers, who wore leather jackets and rode heavy motorcycles, poured scorn on the mods, who often wore suits and rode scooters. The rockers considered mods to be weedy, effeminate snobs, and mods saw rockers as out of touch, oafish and grubby. Musically, there was not much common ground. Rockers listened to 1950s rock and roll, mostly by white American artists such as Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran. Mods generally favoured 1960s rhythm and blues, soul and ska by black American and Jamaican musicians, as well as British R&B/beat groups such as The Who, The Small Faces and The Yardbirds.

the average racoon makes zero dollars every 2 months so he has a fiscal problem
you seem to forget that he had to move out of his moms place under the deck
that wasnt free
then he found those sugar cubes and had to get therapy after they all dissolved during washing
he is looking for work but todays economy doesnt have a lot of openings for non english speaking small mammals
he is trying hard to get the ring but all he has to trade are some shrimp shells and a t bone he found in the trash
would your dog accept a t bone in lieu of a ring?
i thought not as by the pics she seems to be very high class

Pete Townsend, though troubled by personal demons at the time, told a story of an out of place kid that resonated to those of us listening. A rock classic for sure.
