Where was the concern for deficits....
..when we had two tax cuts that weren't paid for, two wars that weren't paid for, and a Medicare clusterfuck prescription drug bill?

1. There was concern
On the Democratic side the voices were ignored. Among law makers, some Democrats were complicit.

On the republican side, there were those who criticized Bush for not being conservative enough, which helped tank his approval ratings.

There was not sufficent concern among those in position to do something about it. Reagan proved that the opposition wasn't to government spending itself, just spending on things they oppose like feeding the hungry.

Welcome to DU.

3. Welcome to DU! (And Ovechkin should have won the MVP.)
Oh well, at last they didn't give it to that apple-cheeked sucker punch artist Cindy "The Whiner" Crosby.

6. Deficits don't matter
Dick Cheney, Kenny Hastert, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama all agree, so it must be true.

We're just going to default it away anyway, so I suppose in some sense they are right.
