NASA commander: No sex on International Space Station
You can forget joining the 200-mile high club.

NASA commander Alan Poindexter told a reporter who asked about "the consequences if astronauts boldly went where probably no others have been" that sexual intercourse is not permitted aboard the International Space Station.

"We are professionals," Poindexter said.

"We treat each other with respect and we have a great working relationship. Personal relationships are not <...> an issue," he explained. "We don't have them and we won't."

The question about sexual relations in space came after an April mission that put a record four women in orbit--the most women in space ever. Three women aboard the Discovery joined another women and four men aboard the International Space Station.

Take a tour inside the International Space Station via the video below. Even if NASA's policy were not in place, the close quarters could make intimacy difficult...

Kirk would do it!

15. Not just likely, it happened...
I worked with Jerrigan, Wisoff, Walker, Ride, Dunbar "Hoot" Gibson and dozens of others.

http://www.space.com/news/cs-080408-expedition16-spaceflight-family.html

The first married couple to launch to space together was U.S. astronauts Mark Lee and Jan Davis, who met while training for STS-47, his second and her first mission. As the two were already in training when they decided to be married, NASA made an exception to its normal policies that would preclude such a pairing. They were married in 1990, launched in 1992 and separated in 1999.

Other former married couples include Steve Hawley and Sally Ride, the first U.S. female in space, and Ron Sega and Bonnie Dunbar. Space shuttle veterans Robert "Hoot" Gibson and Rhea Seddon remain a couple, as are Steve Nagel and Linda Godwin, Peter "Jeff" Wisoff and Tammy Jernigan, and Andy Thomas and Shannon Walker.

14. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know the answer to that one.
Ask anyone who's been married for a while: sex is for special occassions, like full moons on Feb. 29.

8. why did it only come up when 4 women were going?
there couldnt be gay astronauts?
and he did say 'sexual intercourse is not permitted'
that leaves a lot of wiggle room.
