Cops can be so dumb. Now that Toronto police protester plants have been revealed, the question is...
...what were they doing? Just mingling innocently with the protesters to keep an eye on things, which will be the likely TO police answer to this?

At least one of them, from the video evidence, seems to have been doing a bit more than that.

If you watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeG_t9abaSU

you see crazy lady at around the 20 second mark. Consider, is she really that crazy? Or was it an act?
Why did she threaten a camera person with a police-style weapon with such an out-of-control look on her face, just before running behind a police line, clearly recognized as one of their own?

BECAUSE SHE WAS WANTING TO CREATE THE IMPRESSION FOR THE CAMERA AT THAT MOMENT THAT THE POLICE WERE REACTING TO VIOLENT, OUT-OF-CONTROL, BLACK-CLAD NUTS.

Notice how she came at the camera from the direction of the protesters. She was attacking IN THE DIRECTION of the police line. She was/is clearly a police officer, of that there can be no doubt, but she wasn't defending the police line. She was acting, for the camera, like a violent black-suited nut.
She was just TOO DUMB to realize people watching it would notice her police weapon and her running behind police lines.

She was one among several plain-clothed people who took refuge behind the police line. She was clearly the dumbest one.

1. Why are there so many cops in plain clothes with those easily hid fold-up batons?
The whole thing is fucked. I think you are correct in your interpretation.

5. I wonder if they wore the same combat boots this time.
Someone has to justify the expenditures for the massive amount of riot gear and vehicles. Without a riot, it becomes very difficult to argue the case.

10. Cops in riot gear should have badge numbers printed on their uniforms like football jersey numbers.
in HUGE font, so it can be read from a hundred yards away.

14. They can't find enough clean towels to wipe the crow off their faces!
They can only show up on threads where the obvious wasn't caught on camera. That way they hit you with the, 'no proof just tinfoil hatters' blah blah. :eyes:

7. More manufactured reality
Lights! Camera! Action!

Now if you disagree with the government -- well then you must be one of these here violent, out-of-control protesters.

9. I'm going to KEEP saying this................
over and over. As far as I'm concerned, ANY protester that engages in a violent act, violent to persons or property, is a COP until they're proven otherwise. Agent provocateurs have been PROVEN to be doing this over and over for MANY years, so they're cops until proven otherwise.

12. I am surprised this hasnt happened more often in left wing protests.
Plant someone to create violence and then the cops have an excuse to brutalize the protesters.

13. This is not the first time and will not be the last.
Police are tools of the establishment in every sense. They will never understand how to act as a true protester does.

16. they can always be spotted
the worst problem is people supposedly on our side, who ridicule the very idea of this happening. They join voices with the media and dutifully spread the intended propaganda.

17. Embarrassing for Toronto.
Goon behaviors seem to permeate police at these things.
