Pass extension of emergency unemployment benefits, damnit!

Please, Congress, pass the extension of emergency unemployment insurance benefits! I've written my congressman (don't get me started on Cantor), senators and President Obama; I've been busting my tail to get a job, have had a few interviews but no offers. Stop messing around already!

I have two more checks, and then I am done unless they pass the extension. I have been unemployed for 10 months, few interviews, mostly get...too overqualified, made too much money, etc. Crap excuses. I just love it, :sarcasm:, when the Right says we are just living off the dole and don't want to work. Bastards, all of them.

For the most part, we are all on DU because we have an interest in the political process. However, to take liberties with people's lives to push a political agenda is past despicable. I suppose I was naive, but I once thought that Democrats cared about people and Republicans cared about rich Republicans (they don't care about the poor Repubs, simply use them). Now I know that a lot of Democrats don't care about us either; very, very frustrating on all levels.

Good luck to you...I do have faith that even the Repubs are not stupid enough to allow these extensions to expire. However, they certainly don't mind playing with our mental health and every other facet of our lives. Be positive, I know someone with a very narrow niche, a contract negotiator in the fiber optics world who just found the almost identical position to the one he lost, salary close, in the city he lives in after 15 months of unemployment. Perhaps, we will be as lucky, hopefully, sooner than 15 months.
