Things that I cannot wrap my tiny head around...
...or, Tales from the Land of the Spoiled and Disconnected

Twinkie co-worker is fuming about her $6,000.00 mortgage payment. (It’s apparently supposed to be less than that…like, maybe $4,000.00). I find it very hard to care about her right now. And then she’s calling the day care provider because she just learned that there are coyotes in Westchester and she’s terrified that the daycare staff will allow the children to be eaten.

Some people have *real* problems. Some people don’t have food. Some people don’t have a place to live. Some people have to watch their children die because they can’t afford medical treatment.

If I ever become that spoiled and disconnected, please shoot me. You’d be doing the world a favor.

2. Her imaginary problems are very real to her
and one thing I've noticed is that the people who really do lead charmed lives without money worries will always manufacture something to be freaked out about if that's their nature.

Yes, she's a silly woman who could use an education in real life but she's unlikely to get one. Just laugh silently at the spectacle. After all, you'd rather see her than be her, right?

Some people exist to be examples of what not to become for the rest of us.

5. I know, warpy, I know.
I try to cultivate compassion for everyone, but some people present special challenges. Perhaps she was sent to try me.

Ironically, she claims to "care" about social issues in an abstracted way.

6. If you become like that, we won't have to shoot you.
We'll just let the Westchester coyotes eat you.

;-)
