1. How odd that the article doesn't mention the mpg/fuel economy or cosmetic features.
Hmmmm?

Miles per gallon is a useful measure if that is the only fuel that you are putting into your car, because then it gives you an indication of how much it would cost you to drive. But electricity is not free. Probably a better measure would be cents per mile, but of course this would fluctuate as the prices of both gasoline and electricity go up and down and it would depend on your driving habits—not so easy to put on a window sticker.

It isn't anything I'd want to drive, though.

6. Not impressed
The Ford Fiesta gets 30/40 mileage and isn't a hybrid.

9. Why do the smaller hybrid cars
always have to be shaped like a damned suppository? Why can't somebody just take a nice little sedan, one with a real trunk, and make a hybrid out of it? That would be my next car.

10. They share the same platform.
Even though they are made by different manufactures, use different setups, different frames, etc they are all designed to look the same, cause that is what a small hybrid is supposed to look like apparently. There is a similar issue with electric cars.

11. They seem to be able to stuff a hybrid into a Toyota Highlander just fine
The problems with seeing out of the hatchback models would keep me from buying one. In NY and NJ, you often miss other cars by mere inches, I need every advantage I can get visually.

Developed as a stylish, driver-focused vehicle with an emphasis on efficient performance, the all-new 2011 Honda CR-Z introduces a sleek two-passenger coupe design with quick, sporty handling to the gasoline-electric hybrid segment. 4. I can see why
34 miles per gallon for combined city and highway travel. Highway mileage alone is rated at 37 mpg.

5. 36/38 with the CVT transmission.
Hardly inspiring, considering the Civic hybrid gets like 41/45.

7. Huh?
I get 35/40 mpg on my '96 Corolla that cost $15 grand new. Hell, I got 30/35 on my '89 Corolla that cost $10 grand new.
